About
I love watching a students talent or art gift get released when they learn to sew! I teach foundational sewing 1st and then move onto projects. Seeing their smiling faces is so rewarding. They will be able to watch YouTube or Pinterest to get ideas and make them happen because of the foundation I teach them. We have fun! Join Granny B!
I have been teaching kids from age 8 to adults for several years now. I was mentored by a brilliant sewing teacher which has helped me form my teaching skills.
I have been sewing since I was a child and love, love, love teaching others so they can feel the joy of creating their ideas of sewing projects!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first tour them around their sewing machine. They get to know tricks and tips for having a great sewing experience by knowing what notions to use and how their machine works.
I then move onto fabrics and explain the different types. They always love this part.
Then I explain the 1st project which is designed to help them get their hand/eye coordination. They basically get to start sewing straight lines, learn where to look when sewing, and the foundations of their machine and sewing terms ... and have a finished product when done!
Each project after that is designed to increase their skill and knowledge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained one on one with a mentor at an education fabric store in California. I was already a sewer, having taken sewing in grade school, high school, college, and she took me to a whole new level as well as taught me to teach! I have been sewing and teaching since.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. I teach in 5 week courses. $125 for the 5 weeks for private; $75 per person for a group. If you have friends that want to learn, add them in!
I do not create the groups. I teach mostly private.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with both children and adults.
