Frequently asked questions

I do require that students have a keyboard or piano in their home or have readily available access to one as practice is key to their success!

I have experience accompanying choirs and congregations and like to incorporate collaborative playing in my lessons. It is a valuable skill that translates to many situations.

I charge $20/half hour lesson.

My teaching began when a friend asked if I could teach her daughter how to play the piano. I realized that I had enough knowledge that I could help others start on their music journey. Those first lessons were a bit rough, but I have learned so much in the years since. Watching students gain this skill and own it as a talent that brings them joy is priceless.
I've had the pleasure to work with students as young as kindergarten age to parents looking to brush up their skills or learn a new skill.
We did a recital this past spring at a local retirement home. It was wonderful visiting with the residents as well as letting the students showcase what they have learned!
Ask about recital opportunities, there is nothing like needing to prepare for a performance to help you improve! Look for someone you are comfortable talking with... it makes it easier to ask questions when needed.
How much time are you willing to set aside to practice? Can you set some time aside everyday or every other day to work on this skill?
