Dongyoung Jake Shim gained international recognition most recently winning a prize at the 2022 Zhuhai International Mozart Competition in Zhuhai, China. After winning 1st Prize and Bach Prize at the 2020 Stulberg International String Competition in Michigan, United States, he won a prize at the 2020 Irving M. Klein International String Competition in San Francisco, United States. Dongyoung was also one of the Laureates at the 2020 J. S. Bach Competition. Hello! My name is Madeline, and I have been teaching piano for 6 years, starting when I was around 14 with beginner piano students. Now, I teach from beginning to late-intermediate levels, from ages 5 to adult. I follow a classical curriculum as the foundation for my students, but am happy when my students wish to expand to genres such as jazz, pop, folk, etc. I absolutely love music.
